Life has been a journey of challenges and triumphs, and as I reflect on how far I’ve come, I feel immense gratitude for the lessons I’ve learned along the way. My path hasn’t been easy, but it’s been filled with milestones that I’m proud of, and I hope sharing my experiences can inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles.

One of my proudest achievements is earning my bachelor’s degree. I was the first of my mother’s children to graduate from college, a milestone that carries deep meaning for me. What makes this accomplishment even more significant is that I did it while navigating the responsibilities of being a single mother. Balancing coursework, parenting, and the countless demands of life required perseverance, creativity, and an unshakable belief in the value of education—not just for myself, but for the example I wanted to set for my children.

Alongside pursuing my degree, I’ve worked hard to manage my ADHD and CPTSD. Developing effective coping skills has been a journey in itself, one that has taught me patience and self-compassion. Through therapy, mindfulness practices, and a willingness to adapt, I’ve learned how to organize my thoughts and structure my days in ways that allow me to thrive. These skills haven’t just helped me manage my conditions—they’ve empowered me to tackle life’s challenges with resilience and grace.

One area where I’ve had to be especially resourceful is budgeting. As a single mother raising a family of four, I’ve mastered the art of meal planning on a tight budget. It’s a skill born out of necessity but honed with creativity and determination. Turning simple ingredients into nourishing meals for my family is a small but meaningful victory that reminds me of my ability to make the most of what I have.

Reading and writing have been lifelong companions on this journey. Books provide me with comfort, escape, and inspiration, while writing serves as an outlet for processing emotions and expressing my thoughts. Whether I’m journaling about my day, drafting creative stories, or simply jotting down ideas, writing helps me find clarity and calm amidst life’s chaos.

Every day, I work toward my dreams, no matter how big or small. Some days are harder than others, but I remind myself that every step forward—no matter how tiny—is progress. Overcoming life’s challenges is a continuous process, but with each hurdle I clear, I grow stronger and more determined.

If there’s one piece of advice I could offer, it’s this: don’t underestimate your own strength. The journey may be difficult, but with persistence, resourcefulness, and a commitment to growth, you can achieve things you never thought possible. Trust in your ability to adapt and overcome, and never stop chasing the life you want.
